I
grew up on a ranch in Montana
where horses were valued and well loved. My Grandfather was a
true cowboy that had years of experience training horses in the
beautiful West Fork area near Darby Montana. My grandfather
instilled in me a love for horses that continues to thrive in my
heart. After I finished college, I sold my last quarter horse
mare, Sierra, and moved to Carson City, NV, where I currently teach 8th
grade English. While living in Carson City, I met a
Spaniard named Carlos Mendeguia. He took me to Spain to meet his
family and to celebrate our friends wedding. I will never forget
that trip! Spain is a beautiful and thrilling country with
endless things to offer. While there we attended several
festivals and bull fights. I was stunned when I saw the first
Andalusian stallion enter the ring. What a magnificent
creature! I knew at that moment that I would not be content until
I had an Andalusian of my own. I married Carlos and later began
my search for the Andalusian horse for me. I found Bocelli.
Bocelli began his life in Canada with a wonderful owner, Jill Marie
Lane.
He had just won several titles at the Canadian Nationals, and had been
imported to the US under the care of Warren Mather and Amber Lentz near
LA. When I saw him in person, I was awestruck, he was everything
I had been looking for. I knew he was the one for me. I have
never owned a horse with a personality like Bocelli's. He is
sensitive and well attuned to the people that interact with him.
Bocelli is an exceptional stallion that
possesses both beauty and
intellect. He has proven to be a quick learner
in the
dressage arena and shows unlimited
potential for future dressage endeavors. Bocelli is spirited,
playful, and exemplifies the best qualities associated with the PRE
horse breed.
Bocelli was
revised by ANCEE at the Jackass
Mountain Ranch in Pasco, Washington in April 2008. He is DNA
tested EEAA. He is registered with ANCEE, the PRE Mundial, and
IALHA. I look forward to our future together as horse and rider.
UPDATE: Bocelli
has
started the 2010 show season off with a bang.
He scored the Open High Point with a 70.78
in first level. I will be posting the video via youtube
soon. In addition, he has scored a qualifying (open) score in
every test he has taken this show season. Bocelli is schooling
2nd level, and Jocelyn is planning on showing him third level next year
as a young six year old! Bocelli has a filly on the ground! She
was
born on Easter this year. Once again she looks like Daddy a
bay with long legs and a star. We have had an exciting breeding
season this year. There will be several babies on the ground
next year. Some of these babies will be for sale, so contact me
if you are interested in purchasing one for yourself.
We
could
not be more pleased with Bocelli's show season last year.
His high scores and exceptional behavior were a true testimony to his
potential, intelligence, and work ethic. Bocelli took third place in the Nation for Andalusiansin
USDF Training level. Not bad for his first
show season! It is hard to believe he is a young
stallion. Excellent job Jocelyn! Bocelli continued his
dressage training this winter. His movements are growing stronger
and more powerful. Bocelli is now schooling leg yields, shoulder ins,
and hunches in. He has progressed to wall schooling first level
and is learning some second level movements as well. For the 2010
show season, we will be showing Bocelli at first
level setting our sites on championships in the early fall.
We are also considering moving him to some second level classes as the
season progresses.
The
2009
year
proved
to
be exciting in other ways as
well. Bocelli's first foal is on the ground, and he is his
daddy's
replica all the way to the star on his forehead. What a long
legged beauty! The owners refer to him as Junior and have
informed
me that he is as tall as one of their three year old Andalusian mares. I will keep you updated on new foals as they
arrive.
I am offering Bocelli for sale to
the right
home. This has been a difficult decision
to make. I am interested in finding the right placement for Bocelli and
would
love to see him go to a show home. He is
young and has so much potential! I would seriously encourage any
interested
parties to come to one of Bocelli's dressage shows to see him in
action. Pictures do not capture his true beauty like seeing
him in
the flesh! I will continue to offer
Bocelli’s breeding services until he is placed in a new home.
